AI use
How we intend to use AI — and where human responsibility remains
AI can expand analytical capacity. It does not remove accountability. Civic Shield is being designed so machines can assist with scale while consequential judgments, publication and external actions remain attributable to people.
In the work
The proposed system uses machine learning as an analytical assistant: screening large volumes of public material, proposing first-pass categorisation against a defined taxonomy, extracting readable text from images, and drafting translations alongside the original. These outputs are inputs to human review, not final determinations.
On this website
No synthetic imagery appears anywhere on this site — no AI-generated images, photography, video or audio. Civic Shield’s product is provenance, and a generated image is by definition an artefact with no provenance.
Language models may assist with drafting, editing, research support or translation. A person remains responsible for the argument, factual claims and decision to publish.
Automation can scale analysis. Accountability cannot be automated away.
